The University of Evansville (UE) invites nominations, expressions of interest, and applications for the position of Dean of the College of Business and Engineering.

UE is a private, comprehensive university with a foundation in the arts and sciences as well as professional programs where thousands of students have found their home, discovered their passions, and pursued success around the world. The College of Business and Engineering is home to high-quality programs across the Schroeder Family School of Business Administration, the School of Engineering and Computer Science and the Center for the Advancement of Learning, the University's adult education center. The synergy between engineering and business, provides opportunities to build connections between the two fields, producing well-rounded graduates who thrive in an interdisciplinary work environment. Curricula incorporates hands-on learning and experiential opportunities through classroom lectures and project-based learning, internships, mentorships, and more. Students are prepared for a successful career, as well as graduate studies in their field through academic success and personal growth, which is shaped by exceptional faculty.

The new dean will oversee all aspects of teaching, scholarship, and institutional service at the College. Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, the dean meets regularly with collaborative and invested dean colleagues to develop and implement academic priorities and set institutional priorities plus implement a strategic vision for the entire university. Both Business and Engineering have associate deans who oversee many of the day-to-day operations of their respective units and lead accreditation efforts. The dean will share a deep commitment and responsibility to the University's mission "to empower each student to think critically, act bravely, serve responsibly, and live meaningfully in a changing world."

The successful candidate will be a person of the highest integrity who communicates well as a pioneering and entrepreneurial leader committed to delegated governance, transparency, equality, fairness, and the virtues of diversity that define the college's next chapter. The dean will be a servant leader who champions, creates, and maintains community, educational, and government partnerships to support academic disciplines to meet the demands of a changing society and foster faculty research and professional development. In addition, the dean will work with the University community to ensure a dynamic learning environment that prepares students with a strong foundation in the liberal arts and sciences.

UE seeks doctoral qualified candidates with a degree in a discipline relevant to the academic programs in the College of Business and Engineering and who is committed to academic excellence and faculty development. The ideal candidate will possess a proven record of teaching, scholarship, and service as well as demonstrated success in fundraising and grant activity. Experience in cross-discipline program development or management is desirable.
