What We Are Looking For
The Baylor University department of Educational Psychology is seeking applicants for the position of Postdoctoral Research Associate under the direction of Dr. Bree Jimenez. The selected candidate will assist with the data collection, evaluation, analysis, and project management of federally funded research grants. Research focuses on engineering and numeracy for students with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities and developmental disabilities. Ongoing research projects evaluate interventions to support engineering design and universal design for learning for elementary children and teacher training in evidence-based practices and STEM education for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will receive mentorship from faculty in conducting single-case & mixed-methods research and federal grant management and writing. The Department of Educational Psychology is committed to conducting meaningful and rigorous research and to securing external research funding.
Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. The start date for this position is negotiable based on candidate availability and organizational needs. The preferred start date for this position is August 1st of 2025. The assignment is for one year, with the possibility of extension for an additional year depending on performance, funding, and mutual agreement.
Qualifications:
Required:
- PhD in the areas of Special Education, Science Education, Psychology, or a closely related field.
- All requirements of the degree must be completed prior to start of assignment (August 2025).
- Should have experience in conducting research in educational and/or behavioral interventions for individuals with developmental disabilities
Preferred:
- Record of Publication
- Research Experience with a focus in teacher training and/or curriculum development in science, engineering and/or mathematics education designed for students with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities.
- Experience with grant writing and/or conducting grant-funded projects
- Teaching experience with individuals with intellectual disability

What You Will Do
Under supervision the selected candidate will:
- Manage multiple projects in accordance with provided timelines.
- Assist with implementation and evaluation components of projects for research grants.
- Provide verbal and written communication to team members related to time sensitive tasks.
- Assist with routine data collection, data analysis, written annual reports, manuscript development, and grant writing.
- Conduct research aligned with funded STEM and disability grants.
- Development of research protocols.
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
- Ability to comply with university policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
