Position Announcement

Utah Valley University is seeking an ERP Application Engineer I to support and enhance the university's ERP platforms and enterprise applications. In this role, you will work toward becoming a subject matter expert in a specific ERP area or application while supporting its daily operations and cross-training in additional modules to ensure organizational redundancy. By understanding business processes and configuring ERP modules, you'll contribute to improved efficiency and productivity across the institution.

Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting, maintaining, and documenting enterprise software applications and integrations, as well as reviewing software updates, ensuring compatibility, and performing system enhancements. Summary of Responsibilities

Assist in troubleshooting and resolving incidents. Fix, enhance, and administer existing enterprise applications and ERP integrations.
Analyze user needs and align ERP solutions with business strategies. Research technical aspects, existing functionalities, and user patterns to develop functional and technical specifications. Utilize available tools to address customer and business needs with technical proficiency and creativity.
Work closely with more experienced Application Engineers to become an ERP subject matter expert. Assist in translating customer and business needs into product requirements that solve real problems or optimize business practices. Convey the vision of the product to the software engineering team by understanding and translating operational business practices into working SaaS-safe solutions. Assist in coordinating technology/development efforts with engineering and functional areas.
Assist in providing subject matter expertise to support business processes improvement and adoption of ERP and enterprise application standards. Cross train in another major ERP module.
Collaborate with coworkers and customers and learn to develop strong communication skills. Assist in communication with Digital Transformation, business individuals, and other teams. Help the university accomplish its mission by completing other duties as needed. Assist with writing technical documentation.
Learn the product release roadmap and upcoming product releases for the ERP. Assist in research and analysis of upgrades and new modules as they are released. Communicate effectively with key stakeholders, providing updates on enhancements, defect fixes, and other relevant changes. Follow test plans and help coordinate testing with the functional users on those upgrades. Coordinate with team members and technical users to ensure product upgrades are deployed.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a Bachelor's degree in related field plus two years of experience related; OR Associate's degree in related field plus four years of experience related to the essential functions/duties of the position OR any combination of higher education and experience directly related to the essential functions/duties totaling six years.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Knowledge

Knowledge of relational database concepts including SQL, data modeling, and leveraging of existing APIs.
Familiarity with system engineering concepts.
Knowledge of functional business processes to guide strategic recommendations on the use of ERP features, SaaS-safe integration of third-party solutions, or utilization of custom in-house development.
Knowledge of project management and experience with requirements gathering to efficiently translate business ideas into functional requirements or user stories.

Skills

Business analysis, business knowledge, and business change management.

Abilities

Ability to code software fixes and enhancements using SQL, PL/SQL, JavaScript, Python, and other programming languages.
